Dr. Brian Shiple is one of the experts we’ve added to our Regenexx Provider Network of physicians. Brian is an expert sports physician with extreme skills in musculoskeletal ultrasound and regenerative medicine. He’s innovative and will be a site for some of the randomized controlled trials in shoulder and knee stem cell treatments we have coming up this fall. I wanted to share his statement from an e-mail exchange with me about his experience of becoming a Regenexx Network provider:

“Frankly, I’m still so surprised and blown away on some of the case results we’re starting to see as we roll past 3-6 month follow ups on my early cases. Most of the cases I am treating I would have said there were surgical candidates only and I would have done everything I could to talk them out of spending their hard earned money on our treatment.”

Having spoken with Brian, what does he mean by this? Based on his prior experience using stem cells from a bedside centrifuge or PRP, he would have not believed that the patients he now sees respond would respond to Regenexx-SD stem cell therapy. In other words, he would have worked hard to try and talk them out of the procedure based on his sense that there’s no way they would feel better with any injection based therapy.

We’re happy to have Brian on the network, and thrilled to have stem cells in Philly that actually work.  In addition, we still turn down many physicians who want to join the Regenexx network for each one we find that has the right qualifications. After speaking with some of our staff the other day, we could literally have 100-200 physicians on this network if we weren’t picky about who we added. However, at that point, we’d have a big network producing very mediocre results. We’d rather have a much smaller network producing the best possible results!
