StematixCaymans Opening a State of the Art Stem Cell Culture Lab in the Cayman Islands

We are proud to announce that our Colorado based orthopedic stem cell clinic is licensing our cultured stem cell technology so that Stematix Inc. can open a stem cell culture lab in the Cayman Islands. The goal of the lab will be to enable our patients to access the world’s most advanced orthopedic stem cell procedure for knee, hip, shoulder, or ankle arthritis- Regenexx-C.

Why is this cultured stem cell procedure the most advanced in the world? It has more published scientific data in real patients than any stem cell procedure being offered. Second, unlike other cell procedures using same day processing of adipose tissue for stem cells, Regenexx-C uses more of the types of stem cells that multiple research articles have shown are more effective in orthopedics. Third, unlike other clinics, the Regenexx-C procedure has a safety track record going back 5+ years and spanning almost 500 patients in approximately 1,000 procedures. Finally, if the patient is capable of growing more cells than are needed for any given procedure, the remainder of the cells can be saved indefinitely in cryo-preservation allowing cell banking.

Above is a picture of the construction site which shows the self-contained clean room walls going up (incubators in the background of the picture on the right). This is where the stem cells used in our injection procedures will be cultured. To ensure that high quality work will be performed in the lab, our lab director from Colorado (who has experience in supervising about 1,000 stem cell culture expansions with our proprietary platelet lysate technique) will be moving her family to the Cayman Islands for a year. We will maintain our Colorado lab to continue our same day stem cell isolation procedures.

We look forward to continuing to help more patients avoid surgery.
