More Long-term Knee Stem Cell Follow-ups!

I recently blogged about a patient who had come in for a stem cell top-up at 7 years after her cultured knee stem cell injection. As a result of that post, I was contacted by two more patients – one on Facebook and the other on Instagram, both who gave a nice shout out at 5 and 7 years! Here are their stories…

Jarvis Green was an NFL football player whom we treated way back in 2010 with stem cells to treat his knee arthritis. He spoke to NFL news at that time stating that after two failed knee surgeries he was “bone on bone” and unable to play. Dr. Schultz injected his own culture expanded stem cells (grown to get more using the technique that’s now used down in Grand Cayman) into his arthritic knee. He also had his low back and knee ACL treated and was able to get another year with the Houston Texans. Now on Instagram this week he says: “I feel the same. #Regenexx saves my way of life”

Mike Nelli pinged us on Facebook this week about his 7 year follow-up. He too, like the 7 year knee stem cell follow-up on our golfer had the cultured stem cell procedure in 2008. Mike had a hole in the cartilage, a bad meniscus, and a lax collateral ligament. He reports he’s doing very well and adds: “Still playing Ultimate 2 to 3x a week, and pickup basketball once a week.” Many people in Mike’s situation who had gone with traditional surgery would have long since had or now be considering a knee replacement!

The upshot? We’re always happy to hear from old patients! Social media these days allows physicians to hear from patients they’ve treated from all over the world. We’re proud to have so many patients out there that have received the advanced Regenexx-C procedure and who are still kicking it!

The Regenexx-C procedure is not approved by the US FDA and is only offered in countries via license where culture expanded autologous cells are permitted via local regulations.
