An Update on Knee Stem Cell Injections for an Unstable Mensicus

knee stem cell injections

Last month I blogged on a patient treated with stem cell injections to treat a knee coronary ligament injury which was causing an unstable meniscus. She had failed numerous surgeries. And while all patient's knee stem cell injections experience will be different, here's an update on her story:

Hi Dr. Hanson,

For the past three weeks I have maintained my swimming (14+ miles) while running 20-25 miles. I have been keeping up with pilates 3-4 times per week. While on vacation I put in a 7 mile run with sprints that built my confidence. This past Friday I did one of my favorite mountain hill runs which I hadn't done in over 18 months. I ran it a bit cautiously, but succeeded. But the icing on the cake was this morning when I got out of bed, eager to do that run, and caught the sunrise coming up over the hills of Boulder. One of the best reasons to run in my opinion. My dogs are back to looking for my running shoes on my feet.

While the start of the school year will erode some of time I have been able to put into this rehab, I feel wonderful about where things are right now. Additionally, I have gone even further with my low glycemic diet - removing most cereals and thoroughly checking the carbs and sugar in all my labels. All my joints feel better, even my back.

I know how dedicated you are to finding better ways to put people in a happy and healthy place. With your knowledge, expertise, and willingness to really understand my medical and emotional needs, I am a much happier and healthier person than when I met you 14 months ago. With a little patience and determination on my part, I can easily say that I feel I am at 95%. The last 5% is speed and endurance. And, while I have sore quads right now, you won't hear me complain.

Many, many thanks!
