Joe Maroon Competes in 2nd Hawaii Ironman since Regenexx procedure

POSTED ON 10/1/2010 IN Knee BY Christopher Centeno

I spoke to Joe maroon the other day, our Neurosurgeon patient from the University of Pittsburgh who was unable to run in any triathlons as a result of his knee pain. Joe tried the Regenexx procedure instead of a knee replacement and went on to participate in his first IronMan in five years. The 70 year old is back at it again, competing in his second Ironman since he received the procedure (about 2 years ago), which he credits in large part to Regenexx. Go get 'em Joe! It's important to note that we didn't give Joe a new knee with a stem cell injection, merely helped the knee function better and take the punishment.
