A new study just out shows that injecting patients with their own bone marrow stem cells helps heart failure at up to five years after the therapy. 5 years after the patients had the injections, 7 of 191 patients treated with the cells died vs. 32 of the 200 patients who were not treated. In addition, the hearts of cell patients pumped more blood and the patients were able to exercise more. There were no side effects. The upshot, promising new evidence that adult stem cells work... The stem cells used in this study are similar to those currently being used in Regenexx-SD for orthopedic conditions.
