Sheri Finds Alternative to Cortisone Injections to Treat Her Knee Injury

During the summer of 2015, Sheri was playing softball when she heard a pop in her knee, which resulted in pain that got worse as the summer wore on. To help with the pain, she began getting cortisone injections from her doctor. Despite some initial relief, the injections eventually lost their effectiveness.

When she visited her chiropractor, he recommended she look into regenerative medicine therapies. Since Sheri owns her own business — a recycling redemption center — she was especially concerned with the recovery period. When she met with Josh Goodwin, MD, at Regenexx Las Vegas, he assured her the recovery period would be shorter than surgery and that they wouldn’t cut her open.

In February 2016 she began with a prolotherapy injection, then had the Regenexx-SD procedure done the next day. Lastly, she had a platelet injection. 

“Walking into the procedure, my pain level was at a 10,” she says. “Within a few days, I was fine. By the time I went to my six-month appointment, I was virtually pain-free. It’s been a full year-and-a-half, and I have no regrets. I can say my pain level is maybe a zero to one, and I’m back to 98% to 100% percent at my job.”
